Acne Cleansers vs. Acne Toners

For those with acne prone skin — or other problematic skin including acne rosacea — it’s important to find the right products to wash your face. Here at Pure Skin Care, we believe it’s important for everyone to be able to safely wash away the day (including washing off your makeup) and nourish the skin.

We’ve compiled a useful guide on whether you should choose to use a cleanser or a tone, based on your skin type. While both products can be similar in that that may contain active ingredients to chemically exfoliate, and they will rep the skin for efficent application of active ingredients, there are also differences. For instance, cleansers can be used on all acne types, but scrubs should not be used on inflamed acne. Cleansers are also gentle enough to remove makeup, dirt and oil from the skin, while scrubs will exfoliate the skin.
